Course context and practical foundations
Review the course objectives and relevant concepts. Set up a suitable training environment, identify a realistic example and agree how to validate the results.

Configure a development environment and use SDK clients with temporary credentials. Handle errors, retries and service limits.

Integrate S3 and DynamoDB with application code. Choose keys, handle pagination and protect sensitive application data.

Implement Lambda handlers, configure event sources and package dependencies. Compare synchronous and asynchronous invocations.

Expose a sample API, validate requests and evaluate authentication and authorisation patterns for application users.

Use queues and event routing to decouple components. Implement idempotent processing and handle failed messages.

Automate a repeatable deployment, inspect logs and traces and diagnose a failed request across application components.

Complete an integrated exercise using sample data or an isolated training environment. Test the result, document decisions and troubleshooting steps, and identify improvements and next learning objectives.
